Cleaning out my image files...

I was just going through some of the images of my past works and came across a lot that I never got around to posting. Life can just be so hectic sometimes and I don't always get a chance to post a picture of every project or order that I complete. Sometimes I don't even remember to take a picture before I deliver them to my customer...sigh...

However, going forward I am going to try to change that and post as much as I can and as often as I can. Whether it be current projects or orders I'm working on or just inspirations that have given me that light bulb moment. So, for now here are a few images of past works that somehow just never made it onto my blog.

These are the first letters I made for my customer Melissa, for her first daughter Lily. She liked them so much, she ordered another set for her newest bundle of joy Hadley, shown in my previous post.

Another past order shown below was for my customer Amber. She just finished remodeling her master bedroom and doing a hand-stenciled affect on her walls. The word "Wildflower", has a lot of meaning for her and so she wanted it be reflected on her wall to match the new painted motif.

And finally, one of my favorites. This order came by way of my customer Susie, who ordered the letters for the name of her first grandson Marcus. His parents went with a nautical theme for his nursery and so grandma really wanted to contribute and give it a special touch.

I don't get many orders for male/boy themed projects, because I have a largely female customer base, but I really enjoyed creating something new and thinking outside the box for this one. No girly flourishes or ribbons and certainly no paper flowers. I was in for a treat. Knowing me, you know I had to go all out and find just the right papers and creating all the right embellishments to match the theme of his nursery just right. From the tiny sailboat and rope bound anchor, down to even the rope motif on the "M" to match the large sail in the corner of the room.

I really loved working on all of these orders, they let my creativity just flow and no one letter is like another. So, creating a new order to fit my clients' needs and watching their faces light up as they see the finished product is one of the best feelings ever. I know that they truly appreciate the work that goes into creating each and every piece, with all their intricate details.

So, stay tuned and keep those orders coming!

Jungle Jill Nursery Letters

It's been a while since my last post, but it certainly wasn't due to me not wanting to. I just took a much needed break, but now I'm back with a renewed love for my craft. I received an order last week from a previous customer whom I also created another set of nursery letters name for her 1st daughter Lily. This time, she has again been blessed with another daughter who, she named HADLEY. I loved the name and when she sent me a sample of her nursery theme I loved it instantly. This is the Jungle Jill Nursery theme by Carters.

I knew this was going to be a challenge, because I really wanted to try and match the style, theme and colors of the Jungle Jill theme. So first I started with finding just the right papers to use for the base of the letters. Four craft stores and hundreds of papers to look through, I finally found just the right ones to get me starter. LOL, do you know how hard it is to find Brown Giraffe paper?

So, then it was onto the letters and getting them prepped and sealed for the final application.

Once everything was prepped and ready, it was on to finalizing the final plans to complete the look. It took much longer than I thought to get everything sized properly and getting everything placed just where I wanted them on each letter, right down to every single ribbon and the tiniest of details. And without further delay, here's the finished order.

As always, it turned out better than I expected and she absolutely LOVED the final product. Hope to receive a picture of it in their new nursery in the near future. So stay tuned!
